David Allan Rush

David Allan Rush, 66, of Surprise, Arizona, peacefully passed away on December 11, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 16, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona, David was the beloved son of Patrick Rush and Sondra Trasente. Dave lived a simple yet rich and fulfilling life. He found joy in the little things—whether it was solving daily word puzzles or watching re-runs of his favorite TV shows, including Monk, The Andy Griffith Show, Frasier, and many other classic favorites. He had a lifelong passion for designing and stocking his fish tanks, which brought him hours of peace and amazement. His love for his fish was evident, and he would often sit in front of the tanks, lost in thought as he marveled at the creatures he so carefully cared for. Dave was a hard worker, but he always believed in working smart. He often shared his philosophy with those around him, saying, “You have to be smarter than the object.” Whether it was a project around the house or helping a friend, Dave was always willing to lend a hand. His love for family was his greatest strength. Through every high and low, his commitment to his family and friends remained unwavering. His love for them was deep, constant, and unconditional. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosie Rush, and his three daughters, Kristin (Ricky) Schulz, Melissa Danish, and Kimberly Danish. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Cynthia (Jim) Bond and Megan (Troy) Perrin; his two brothers, Kevin C. (Mina) Rush and Scott (Lois) Rush; and his mother, Sondra Trasente. In addition, he is survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five nieces, and six nephews. Dave was also the proud owner of two beloved dogs, Troubles and Lucy, who were a constant source of companionship and comfort. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Rush, his sister, Debra Sargent, and his brother, Richard Rush. Dave’s battle with cancer was sudden and heartbreaking, and the rapid progression of the disease left his family in shock. However, they find solace in knowing that God's plan was absolute, and in His mercy, Dave’s suffering was minimized. Dave was surrounded by his loved ones when he was welcomed into the Lord's embrace. Although his family will miss him deeply, they are comforted by the knowledge that this is not a permanent goodbye, but a temporary separation until they are reunited in Heaven.
