Joyce Kendall
Mrs. Joyce Kendall, 83, of Surprise, Arizona went home to be with her Heavenly Father, on September 21st, 2021 in Sun City West, Arizona. She was born on August 14th, 1938 in Dumas, Texas, to Elwood Harkins and Lillie Thompson.
Joyce met her beloved husband of 65 years, 3 months, and 19 days in the pickle aisle of the local Humpty Dumpty’s of Midwest City, Oklahoma. They had three children together.
She found great pride in taking care of her home and family. She was devoted to her faith, where she was a member of the Church of Christ. Joyce had a soft spot for the local stray animals and always ended up adopting them into her gentle care. Mrs. Kendall was a crafter, making beautiful knitted items as well as homemade costumes for Halloween. Her ornery nature was complemented by her fun, loving, and often expressive looks. You knew when she’d give you “the look,” you might be in trouble. Much like her zestful personality, she had a fondness for dark chocolate. Joyce will be greatly missed in many ways, as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but remembered by her caring heart.
She is survived by her husband, Addison Kendall, her daughter, Kathy Carter (David), and her son, Dane Kendall (Sherrie.) She was a loving grandmother to her six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Brandi Kendall, grandson, Dustin Lee Kendall, as well as her sister, Sharrolyn Reed.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Byron Gable
Byron Eugene Gable, age 76, passed away September 02, 2021 after a long battle with pneumonia. He was preceded in his death by his parents Byron Gus Gable and Nettie Lorene Gable. Byron is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Mallory Mossuto and her husband, Chris; his three grandchildren, Aubrey, Tanner, and Hunter; his sister Pamela Greer and her husband Tim; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was a graduate of South High School in Torrance, California.
As a child he started raising pigeons and it continued to be a big part of his life up until he could no longer participate in the raising, training, and care of his beloved Roller Pigeons. He traveled to many places in the US and overseas judging competitions and he, himself, was known for winning many competitions.
Byron also loved classic cars (Chevy’s), traveling, his dogs, learning about animals and nature, and his many friends. Wherever he went or worked his gregarious nature made him many long time friends.
Byron had many different types of employment throughout his years, and excelled at all of them. He was employed at Boeings, Alaska Airlines, was an account manager for grocery store accounts, sold cars for Hertz, and his last employment was driving a school bus in Arizona.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the National Memorial Cemetery at 23039 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. Service will start at 10:00 AM but they ask that you arrive at 9:45.
Quindlyn Da-Mica Weekly
Quindlyn Da-Mica Weekly lovingly known as “Da-Mica”, 46, of Surprise, Arizona went home to be with our Lord on September 5th, 2021. She was born on March 24th, 1975 to Theodore Weekly and Dorothy “Dot” Weekly (Cunningham) in Columbus, Ohio.
On the day God made Da-Mica, he broke the mold. She was a one-of-a-kind person with so much love, sass, and a sense of humor like no other. She loved putting people “in time out” when they tried to give her any sass back! There was never a stranger to Da-Mica, only a person she hadn’t talked to yet and by the end of that conversation, that “stranger” was going to be Da-Mica’s new friend. Those seeking advice knew Da-Mica would readily give it to them as well as be a shoulder for them to lean on.
Da-Mica loved the finer things in life. She knew what she deserved and was never afraid to treat herself! Whether that be wine tasting, a cruise, a relaxing massage, or a nice long soak in the hot tub she worked hard and gave so much of herself to help others that she didn’t hesitate to spoil herself with some much-needed relaxation. She also loved to travel, no matter near or far she just loved getting out and exploring the beauty of the world around her. She was also the queen of shopping and loved going out for a good girl’s day.
Above all else, Da-Mica was a proud and devoted Christian. She was baptized at an early age and her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ only grew with time. Da-Mica did her best to live her daily life in a God Honoring way. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was on the Woman’s Committee at Gospel Light House Church where she also volunteered in their nursery, and after moving to Arizona Da-Mica found Real Life Ministries. She loved being able to make the lives of those around her brighter. She was an example to all of what a good Christian woman should be.
Da-Mica is survived by her mother Dorothy “Dot” Weekly, her Sister Sherri Weekly (Cornelius Jones), her brother Stephon Jones, her special cousin Karnita “Shay” Bardwell, notable friends Karla Blacksher and Candy Booth, and too many other friends and family members to name but Da Mica loved them all the same. She is awaited in heaven by her father Theodor Weekly. Services for Da-Mica will be held on September 17th, 2021 at 4 PM at Real Life Ministries 13174 W Foxfire Drive Building B, Surprise, AZ 85378.

Susan Price
Susan Price, 64, of Surprise, Arizona died on September 1st,2021 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born on May 17th, 1957 in Glens Falls, New York, to Philip Murray and Barbra Perry. Susan attended Saint Mary’s Academy during her high school years in New York, and attended Bennington College in the state of Vermont.
Susan loved to curl up with a good book and read, especially novels written by JD Robb, and found simple joy in playing games on her tablet, as well watching the beautiful birds she loved so much, while sitting in the back yard. Holidays were important to her and you’d always see her love for food, often preparing her lasagna dish, and loved having lemon meringue pies during those wonderful times spent with her family. Her famous mac & cheese recipe was a crowd pleaser at many dinners where you’d get to enjoy her infectious laugh and hospitality. You could find Susan often peacefully, humming and singing popular songs and nursery rhymes to her grandbabies.
Susan tried to look on the brighter side of things in life, with her memorable sayings of “when it rains it pours, so keep your chin up,” and if bad luck spoiled plans, you’d often hear her say “You can’t win for losing.”
Susan loved so deeply and so generously. She is remembered as one of the most amazing mothers to her children and a very special grandmother to her beloved grandchildren and will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her daughters: Kaitlin Price, and Moriah Adams, her sisters: Stephanie Hoffis, Marcia Beard, and Debbie Cannon, as well as her brother Philip Murray. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren.
The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 16th at 1pm, at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.
Dennis Carlton
Dennis Carlton, 78, of Surprise, Arizona died September 5th, 2021 in Surprise, Arizona. He was born on November 8th, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to Delbert Carlton, and Marguerite Ott.
Dennis served in the Navy (Seabees) from 1961-1965. He worked for over 20 years as a heavy fire equipment operator in the forestry industry.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Carlton, his son, Christopher Carlton, his sisters, Janet Adamaitis, and Mardel Burns, and his three wonderful grandchildren.
Robert J. Clark
Robert J Clark, 88, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away at 12:20 pm on August 20th, 2021. He was born on April 12th, 1933 to Heman Clark and Blanche Strang in Torrance California. Robert served his country as a corporal in the United States Army as well as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the IUOE Local 12 for over 40 years.
Robert was a friend to everyone he met and always had a joke or story to tell. He was humble and kind. A truly good man. Robert loved his family and it would be impossible to list all the good things this man has done. Robert has left a void in the hearts of everyone and will truly be missed.
He lives in the hearts of his beloved wife Dianne, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
