Angela “Angie” Suzanne Thomas

Angela (Angie) Suzanne Thomas of Phoenix, AZ passed away October 25, 2019. She was born July 21, 1971 to Elizabeth (Smith) Nickel and Robert Thomas in North Platte, NE. She graduated from Palos Verdes High School in California in 1989. Angie got an Associate Degree from Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA. She later continued her education in psychology at Rio Salado College in Tempe, AZ.

Angie had a big heart, enjoyed helping others, and was always concerned for their well-being. One friend describes Angie as “A kind, generous, thoughtful soul that could lift someone’s spirits with her infectious laugh.” Angie loved her family and friends and would do whatever she could to ensure their happiness and success. She adored animals especially her dog Tommy. Angie shared a special bond with her maternal grandmother, Norma Ailes Smith, of North Platte, NE.

Angie is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and aunt. Survivors include longtime partner James Brennan of Phoenix, AZ; her mother Elizabeth and stepfather Gary Nickel of Surprise, AZ; her brother Craig Thomas of Lincoln, NE; Aunt Sharon Wheelock of Hyannis, NE; stepbrothers and stepsister; and numerous cousins.

A memorial will be held on December 1 with immediate family only in Palos Verdes, CA where Angie grew up and loved dearly. Her ashes will be combined with some of her father and spread in the Pacific Ocean.
