Edwin Ronald Borgeson

Edwin Ronald Borgeson of Surprise, Arizona, passed away from COVID-19 on the 30th of December, 2020, in Surprise, Arizona. He was born on the 20th of February, 1942 to Edwin Ross Borgeson and Lucille Agnus Datson in Omaha, Nebraska. Edwin grew up in San Pedro, California during his early adolescence years and later the family returned to Omaha, Nebraska.

Edwin graduated from Westside High School in his native Omaha, and would go on to attend Omaha University. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, from 1961 to 1965. Edwin’s father taught him the tile setting trade, and Edwin expanded his knowledge of construction sciences with his attendance of Palomar College in San Marcos, California. He worked civil service in Camp Pendleton, a Marine base in California, and later worked as a Mojave County Building Inspector in the Bull Head City – Lake Havasu, Arizona area. Edwin was a classic car aficionado and off-road enthusiast, always happy to take his family and friends either on a trip to a car show or a ride on rugged terrain. His outdoor explorations extended beyond land, as he would go boating at Lake Havasu with family and friends.

Edwin is survived by his spouse, Marcia Borgeson; his daughters, Martie Napier, Julie McElwee, Rhonda Rose, and Krista Borgeson; his son, Michael Borgeson; his sisters Sherry Brehm and Cindy Woody; his brother, Robert Borgeson; and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Patricia Borgeson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

  1. My dad was a great man with an even bigger heart. It has been almost 2 years and it’s not gotten any easier. I love you dad.
