John Thomas Zabierek

John Thomas Zabierek passed away suddenly on April 7, 2024, at the age of 57.  John was a caring husband, father, and friend.  John is survived by his wife, Kelly, and son Zachary.  Forever remembered by his siblings Neil and Maria, along with Maria’s family, her husband, Jerome Winters and children Abigail and Emma.

Born on December 7, 1966, John was the first born of three children to his beloved parents, Roy and Mary Zabierek.  At an early age, John exhibited his gifts in both math and science.  After graduation in Minnesota, he was accepted to the prestigious University of Notre Dame, as a Notre Dame Scholar.  In college, John met his best friends for life: Mark, Mike, Roger, and John.  Over the past 30 plus years, John excelled at his career in Electronic and Technical Sales.

Even with all the leadership positions he held throughout his professional career, John loved being a husband and father most of all.  Whether it is was decorating the house for the holidays, dressing up for Halloween, vacationing in California, coaching football, or simply cooking Corn Beef and Hash for brunch on Sundays, John cherished every moment with his son.  John will forever be proud of his son’s accomplishments.

John also had a special bond with his siblings.  John, Neil, and Maria were fortunate to spend vacations together several times over the last couple years.  They were close emotionally and supported one another.  Maria will forever miss their daily evening chats.  The Zabierek siblings have many fond memories of our childhood to include summers at our Maine cabin, family ski trips to Colorado, and summers at Cross Lake.  John will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at 926 South Litchfield Rd Goodyear, AZ 85338 (Thompson Funeral Chapel).  In lieu of flowers, please donate to KLOVE.

  8. Kelly and Zach,
Please accept my deepest condolences regarding the passing of John. He was one of my closest Electrical Engineering buddies at Notre Dame. John, Mark, Rog, and I studied a lot together and we did a lot of other things as well. I remember those times with John very fondly. Please do not hesitate to reach out, as I am here for you as is the larger Notre Dame family. Blessings and Peace to John now and forever.
    Regards,
    Brian Einloth
