Kali Johnson

Kali Johnson, age 48, of Surprise, Arizona passed away on July 26th, 2020 in Surprise, Arizona. She was born on January 17th, 1972 to Brenda Marie Johnson in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kali graduated from Thomas Carl Howe High School in Indianapolis and went on to Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry.
Kali was a kind and genuine person who loved all of those around her. She had a servant’s heart and tirelessly serving the community by working with The Arizona Department of Child Safety as a Child Fatality Investigator and Homeless Case Manager with the Department of Children’s Services in Flint, MI.
Kali was a devout follower of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and found her strength through him. No matter how big or small a struggle was she knew she was never going through it alone as our Lord walked her path with her. Her devotion can best be seen through her own words “No matter what you go through in life, no matter how many disappointments you suffer, your value in God’s eyes always remain the same. Don’t just accept whatever comes your way in life. You were born for greatness: Don’t give in to pressure. Don’t quit! Don’t allow negative circumstances to cause you to give up on your dream. People who are determined to stick with it, will eventually live it. You can never live your dream if you quit or if you give up on it. When you are tempted to get discouraged, remind yourself that according to God’s word, your future is getting brighter. You are on your way to a new level of glory.” She shared her love for the lord with others and became an Ordained Minister in October 2009 through the Family Worship Church Center International with Pastor Timothy Stokes during her time in Flint, MI.
Kali’s loving and lively spirit will be greatly missed. Kali is survived by her Sister Melissa Johnson, Niece Naimah Johnson, and Nephew Elijah Clark. A memorial service will be held for her on September 18th, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Thompsons Funeral Chapel and a Celebration of Life will be held at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN on October 2nd, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Masks will be required at both services.
