Elmer Hird Ewan
Elmer Hird Ewan was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He left this world suddenly due to pancreatic cancer on April 13, 2021, at age 77, in his hometown of Surprise, Arizona. His final days were spent surrounded by his family.
He was born to Alex and Gladys Ewan on June 30, 1943. After graduating from Kendall, Elmer and chased his dreams traveling around the USA working at different printing jobs. Elmer married Ruth Flansburg in 1967. Together, they had 3 children: Bonita, Rodney, and Lisa. After Ruth’s death, he married Cecile “Margie” Hall and had two stepchildren: Richard, Jr., and Cindy. Elmer had 16 grandchildren.
Elmer loved spending time with his friends and his family. He passionately loved the Washington Redskins.
At Elmer’s request, there will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the deaf residents of Sun City Grand (SCG). A memorial will be created for other families who may have experienced an unexpected loss in their family and/or to support Deaf senior citizens in SCG. Alan G. Klink “Big Al”
Alan G. Klink “Big Al”, 75, died on April 07th, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on August 26th, 1945 in Osage, Iowa to Catherine “Carroll” and David Klink.
Al grew up in Marian, Iowa and attended Regis High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa before attending The Loras Catholic College of Liberal Arts. After graduation he moved to Omaha Nebraska and became an insurance adjuster. In 1970 Al met Jean Dugan and it was love at first sight. Al and Jean got married just one year later in 1971. In 1973 the pair moved to Arizona where he continued to work as an insurance adjuster. Al was a kind man who loved music, Fishing, nature and Volleyball. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Al is survived by his wife of 49 years Jean Klink, his sister Carol (Steve) Adamowicz, sister-in-law Marie (Bernie) Henry, brother-in-laws John (Mary) Dugan, Ron (Barb) Sweet Dugan, five nieces and nephews, countless other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
Marie V. Stolz
Marie V. Stolz, 76, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona died on April 3rd, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona of natural causes. She was born on August 9th, 1944 to Antonio and Amada Colón in Ponce Puerto, Rico.
Marie was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu City, Arizona where she served on many community service programs. She was a skilled quilter and found joy not only in its art but also in the relationships and friendships quilting helped her create. Marie will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughters Lillian Holley, and Stephanie Herren, her son Arnold Stolz Jr., her sister Judith Colón and her brother Lou Colón. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Amada Colón and her beloved husband Arnold Stolz Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Services are private.
Theresa Margaret Short
Theresa Margaret Short, 63, of Surprise, Arizona died on April 7th, 2021 in Surprise, Arizona. She was born on July 17th, 1957 to Lloyd Cline and Shirly Skadelin in Cherokee Iowa.
Theresa was a loving wife and mother. She lived for her children and grandchildren and would have moved the stars in the sky for them if they asked. She loved to take them up north to go camping and loved to spend her time outdoors. Theresa was also an avid Pioneer woman collector and had a collection “like no other”.
Theresa is survived by her husband David Short, daughter Lisa Short, Sons Shane Nisbet, and Travis Short, sister Victoria Maggard, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Services are private.
