Dean Quinten Lindell, age 91, passed away on March 31, 2024 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born on March 18, 1933 in Milbank, South Dakota to Oscar and Delilah (Strain) Lindell. He was one of eight children.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 – 1952. While stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, he married Shirley Hartt on July 6, 1951. They shared 71 years together before Shirley’s death in May, 2022. They had seven children.
Dean was an electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years in Livingston, Montana and Burlington, Iowa. After he retired, Dean and Shirley enjoyed traveling and lived in Montana, Idaho and Oregon. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles and gardening.
He is survived by his children: William (Cynthia), Richard (Donna), Charles, Diane (Brian) and Janette (Mike), 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Marlton, Arvilla Ramsey and DeAnna Folk.
He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley; his parents; brothers: Byron, Dennis, Gordon, and Orlyn; sisters: Arlowene Odegard and Barbara Stienlicht; sons: Leroy and Michael; and great-granddaughter Riley.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
