Dr. Eleanor Christine French, age 88 of Glendale, Arizona, died Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of three children. She was the first in her family to graduate from university. With multiple undergrad degrees, she achieved a PhD in Public Administration from Syracuse University, Maxwell College and went on to teach graduate studies. She championed philanthropic pursuits as an instructor at DePaul University, Chicago, and finally, at Grand Valley State University, Michigan. She worked tirelessly with the Navajo Nation while teaching at ASU to develop their first remote adult continuing education program. She would do the same for the Arizona Department of Corrections years later. She supported charity in all forms and kinds throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie, and her closest friends Patti and Casey.
The family suggests that any donations made to any charity in her name would be welcome.
