June Maxine Brower

“The Goodest Cook”
June Maxine Robertson Williams Brower, will be missed by all her children, Sharon A Henkle of Surprise, AZ; her son Robert (John) Williams and their children, Michelle, Tanya and T.J. loved her very much.

Her long life of 92 years began in Marion, Ohio in 1924. Her father took her to Virginia where he was a loomer, fixing looms for the textile industry. She married Robert (Bob) Howard Williams on April 21, 1943. They lived in Patterson, NJ, where Sharon A Williams-Henkle was born. Later they “bought the farm.” It was his parent’s farm in Gettysburg, PA, this is where Robert John Williams was born. Later they moved to Los Gatos, CA. where June was head cook for Blossom Hill Elementary School. It was there she earned the title, “The Goodest Cook.” Everyone loved her peanut butter cookies, especially John’s dog Sheba who knew just where they were kept. Her famous lemon meringue pies were her daughter-in-law Sue’s favorite.

After retirement, she and Bob moved to Magalia, CA where he died in 1991. She later remarried to Kenneth C Brower and they spent 18 happy years together and her family expanded to include Ken’s daughter Nancy O’Hara and her family.

June will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. We are comforted by her unshakeable faith in God, who sustained her through her final battle, a fight even this stubborn Scottish girl could not win. She walked with Jesus on July 31, 2017.
