Willy Spekman Cox

Clara Willy Spekman Cox was born on December 05, 1934 to Willem and Klassaje Spekman in Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands. She passed away on August 1, 2017 in Goodyear, AZ.

A celebration of Mom…

A loving wife, a caring mother of 7, proud grandmother of 13 and an affectionate great grandmother of 10, Willy lived a full and fulfilling life. Dedicated to family, she wanted more than anything to know that her loved ones were well cared for.

Willy served her community with enthusiasm and heart and was passionate about supporting various organizations including Retired American Veterans, The American Legion Auxiliary, and Benevolent Protective Order of Elks.  For many years, she and her husband Joseph Cox managed numerous events and activities to support veterans.  They provided recognitions, bingo nights, dinners, and fund raisers.

Willy was an accomplished ballroom dancer, artist, vocalist, and pianist. Her gifts of needlework in crochet and knitting were displayed throughout her home, the homes of her children, grandchildren, and in creations donated for gifts or fund raising events. When her fingers were unable to knit or crochet, she found other mediums to produce her beautiful pieces. Her talents have left a legacy with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Lena Rae (Cox) Puro – Utah, Marna (Shemara) Cox Martin – California, Arthur Lawrence Cox – California, Ronald Lynn Cox – Utah, Joseph Michael Cox – Oregon, Brent Stanley Cox – California.

Memorial services to commemorate Willy Spekman Cox will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, 300 East 11800 South, Draper, Utah, August 12, 10am, 2017.
