Mindy Creshone Byers

Mindy Creshone Byers was born on October 25th, 1968 in Vancouver WA. Mindy left this earth surrounded by family and prayers, in the comfort of her home on May 10th, 2021 to be with our Lord and Savior. Born to Jan and Bruce Campbell, Mindy came into this world with joy, enthusiasm and a humorous rebellion. She departed us peacefully in which she will continue to serve God with the same love, joy, and excitement. She temporarily leaves Stephen, her Husband of 31 years. She also leaves her God-fearing Sons; Joshua Stephen, Ryan James, and Samuel Allan, as well as their supportive wives Sara, Andrea, and Erika.  Mindy has three grandchildren by Joshua and Sara named Roman Ezra, Moxie Grace, and Asher Phoenix. She is survived by her brother Mark Campbell and his wife Jodi.

Mindy exuded God’s love and grace. For those who experienced her excitement and joy for life, you should know that her hope, love, and generosity was given through God. She asks you to see Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

During the last four years her joy did not dissipate. Her faith never wandered.  Mindy gallantly emulated 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.

So we do not give up. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

“Never give up!” Was laced within Mindy’s DNA. This admirable trait and stubbornness was directly passed to all three of her sons. When times got tough, or they dared to utter the words “Mom, I cant…” EVERY TIME, (even when it was out of context) she would proclaim back: Philippians 4:13

I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me

In the wake of her passing it is tempting to look at the suffering, grief, mourning, and hardships to come and cry out “I cant!” And maybe that is the point. Mindy, you forever leave us a reminder that true power and strength was never what you or anyone could do, but what Jesus Christ has done.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.

  4. Mindy was a bright light. A gift to all who met her. Fiercely protective of her family , friends and community. She shared her energy, hope, joidevrie (sp) and her love of life itself. May her spirit that infected me with smiles and connection, enjoy no more earthly limits. God takes and needs the givers first. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Tears are love spilling over so let yours flow. Hugs, love and gratitude to her family for sharing her with all of us. Blessings are theirs. Gloria Worland

  5. So sorry for your loss you and your family are in our prayers.❤

  6. Mindy and Steve and their three boys have always been an important part of our lives, from visiting them in Virginia and Washington to providing Ranger Rick to their grandchildren. Mindy played a very important part in her Grandparent’s lives, when she helped Ron and Sylvia transition to Merrill Garden (painlessly). One of our favorite memories of her was an Easter Sunday many years ago when we were trying to take pictures of her and her cousins (all within a year of age). They were like like poles on magnets — they dispersed in every direction.

Mindy, you will be in our hearts forever, and Steve, Josh, Ryan, Sam and your families will be in our prayers and thoughts , as well, as you come to accept the passing of Mindy.

Love, Uncle Craig and Aunt Marya

  7. Dearest Sister Jan and BOL Bruce –

Mindy you’ve touched so many people in so many different ways, however, laughter is included in all of them. Thank you for giving me the Mindy Campbell Byers experience. There is no one like you. Once again, with so much dignity, you lead us, and fill us with love and hope. Until we can clink our glasses in celebration again. I love you and thank you. I also send healing thoughts and love to Stephen, Joshua, Ryan, Samuel, and families.

  15. I first met Mindy when we became franchisees to Dream Dinners. We hit it off right at the beginning. She became my dear friend but living so far away, we didn’t get to talk much. I lived in Arizona and then moved in 2011. Then she moved to Arizona and we talked about how sad we both were I left the state. I had no idea she went to be with Jesus until I saw this on Facebook. I am broken. Her spirit was contagious and I will miss you my dear friend. But I know we will see each other again. I love you

  43. Mindy will be missed by many. I grew up playing sports with the boys and spent a lot of time after games and in between practices at the Byers household. No matter who entered her home, she was always delighted to host and made sure everyone was fed and well. She was a huge personality in the small town of Kingston and loved by everyone. Her memory will live on through her amazing family.

Many people live much longer but do not accomplish nearly as much as Mindy did.
